چکیده

Abstract This study quantifies the impacts of climate change on yields and corresponding economic losses in six relevant crops that account for 65% harvested area Mexico are highly terms consumption value. The results show crop could decrease considerably during this century, especially rainfed management system. Under a high-emission scenario, large reductions expected by end century both irrigated systems maize (42%, 31.4%), rice (51.4%, 41.3%), sorghum (41.1%, 36.6%), soybean (59.1%, 44.9%), wheat (23.3%, 20.0%), sugarcane (11.7%). Climate Change and Agriculture: Economic Impacts

Agriculture is arguably the most important sector of the economy that is highly dependent on climate. A large body of scientific data and models have been developed to predict the impacts of the contemporary and future climate. Since the first IPCC Assessment Report was published in 1990, substantial efforts have been directed toward understanding climate change impacts on agricultural systems....

Assessing Climate Change Impacts: Agriculture

The economy-wide implications of climate change on agricultural sectors in 2050 are estimated using a static computable general equilibrium model. Peculiar to this exercise is the coupling of the economic model with a climatic model forecasting temperature increase in the relevant year and with a crop-growth model estimating climate change impact on cereal productivity. The main results of the ...

Socio-economic and climate change impacts on agriculture: an integrated assessment, 1990-2080.

A comprehensive assessment of the impacts of climate change on agro-ecosystems over this century is developed, up to 2080 and at a global level, albeit with significant regional detail. To this end an integrated ecological-economic modelling framework is employed, encompassing climate scenarios, agro-ecological zoning information, socio-economic drivers, as well as world food trade dynamics.
